SENIORS ON TOUR
We had a great trip to the castle today. We played some games, learned the history of the castle, admired wild flowers and had some great fun. Even the walk home didn’t feel too long!
FAIRY DOORS
We made fairy doors from clay in art today. They were inspired by the book Twinkl the Tooth Fairy. We will paint them next week and then they will be winging their way home!
MINDFUL MONDAY
We took a stroll around the yard today to have a chat or a quiet think.
POTTERY
We think the end result is pretty amazing. We are sure you agree.
ART TIME
We used clay today to make balls, the moon, snails, snakes and finally pinch pots. We will paint them next week and bring them home for you all to enjoy once they are ready.
MATHS FUN
It was great learning about graphs with Miss Barry today. We all had to decide on our favourite colour and then colour in our page. It is clear to see which colour is the most popular in Senior Infants.
FUN IN THE SUN
We had great fun outside today. We had playtime outside and we also spent some time chalking.
PE FUN
We had great fun with Ms. Ahern today in PE. We were practicing our sprinting. She had some great tips for us to make us faster. Watch out parents over the weekend!!
SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!
We had great fun planting today. There was great excitement when the box of seeds and compost arrived a few days ago. We are taking part in the Innocent Big Grow. We planted salad leaves, peas, spinach, beetroot and radish. Lets hope the sun shines so we can watch them grow. We might even be tempted to taste them!!
HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY
We have been very busy over the past week getting ready for Saint Patrick’s Day. We learned all about St Patrick, sang songs and did some lovely colourful art. We finished the celebrations today with a wonderful Teddy Bear Parade in the sun.
BEST DAY EVER
Great fun today in our Christmas jumpers. We also got to decorate biscuits and eat them while watching a Christmas film.
Science Week in Senior Infants
Senior infants completed a number of fun experiments to celebrate Science week this year. All experiments were done using items that the children could find at home. Our first experiment was the Skittles rainbow, using a plate, some skittles and warm water. The experiment showed how sugar dissolves in water and it looked really nice too. The hardest part for the children was not eating the Skittles!
We also made volcanoes using water, food colouring, baking soda, washing up liquid and vinegar. It was really explosive!
Other experiments included tie dye milk and liquid layers.
PAPER DOLLS
Senior Infants made some ‘Mini me’ dolls last week in art, using a variety of materials.
