The sun was shining for our visit from our local GAA stars. We welcomed Laura Hayes, a past pupil and acting Vice Captain of the Senior Cork camogie team. They beat Galway in August to win the O Duffy Cup. It was a proud moment for all the locals to see Laura walk the team onto the pitch and present the team to Michael D Higgins.
We also welcomed Niamh O Regan. A member of both St Catherine’s club and the Cork Imtermediate team who beat Kilkenny in August. Niamh scored 2 points in the match to help secure the McGrath Cup.
We are very appreciative to Laura and Niamh for visiting today and helping to inspire the next generation of players. A special thanks to Lorraine, David and Marie from St Catherine’s club for coming along.
